Youtobe Videos

Sometimes I think the hype surrounding Youtube is funnier than the actual videos, this is why I wanted to write a funny hub regarding 'Youtobe' merchandise and how cowboys have tried to cash in on the world's most popular video site.

There are so many people trying to create Facebook fanpage's called 'Yutube' simply to get 'likes' from searchers misspelling Youtube when using Google. I actually wrote another hub addressing this problem, but now I want to talk about the branding of the words Youtube and why all these fake sites and pages water-down the originality of a great site.

Let's think for a moment, why did the founders call it 'Youtube'? Obviously 'You' are submitting the videos, but the many think the 'Tube' part is because of the old fashioned slang for television.

You-to-be Music

We want You-to-be music fans of this particular genre, 'God wants You-to-be Saved', these are just a few ridiculous phrases I have seen floating about. It seems everyone wants You to be what they are!

What happened to the days when art and story telling was something you had to be passionate about and work hard to get acknowledged like Shakespeare presenting his plays! Now we have the likes of 'Fred' getting millions of views a day for being annoying and speaking in a high pitched voice!

You might also have seen the scam survey's which pop up when typing 'Yotube' in your browser by accident, Google is actually taking legal action against the webmasters who purchased the Yotube.com URL's and acted in bad faith by registering a confusingly similar name.

As I have mentioned before, they also use the same brand theme as Youtube and these may not be the same words but the colors lead naive visitors looking for videos to believe that they have been selected as an official winner.

At least if you are going to register something related to videos then design an original logo with different colors such as this design I found on Flickr!

I am going to end this article by including the famous 'Yutube' video which includes a kooky Latino lady trying to pronounce the title of the famous video sharing site, it has received an incredible 24 million views in its lifetime where people have clicked on it after miss-typing in Google search.

So if you have found my hub by accident when searching for music videos, I do apologize but I might have presented you with something more entertaining, You might have had to read for a change, but you might have also seen the flaws surrounding the hype on the internet as well!
