The Weeknd - Weekend Music?

'Weeknd Music'
I was searching for 'Weekend Music' on Youtube when I accidentally came across an RnB singer by the name of 'The Weeknd', note the misspelling but it is intentionally missing the 3rd 'e' to appear more stylish.
This was a pleasant encounter because I do like talented RnB singers, I'm not talking about the manufactured bands you see in the charts such as Kayne West and Lil Wayne, although some people might like them.
I liked 'The Weeknd' because he has a crisp singing voice which you can tell comes from the soul, I also like the fact that many of his songs have abstract/metaphorical meanings.
The Weeknd Lyrics
Many of The Weeknd's songs refer to love and romance as you would expect from an RnB singer, however I particularly like The Weeknd Lyrics found in the song 'House of Balloons'.
I like the way he refers to his everyday life in a metaphorical sense, talking about his struggles with long days and short nights and how he has to fit his relationships around this.
These are angel eyes
Nights ends so much quicker than the days did
Same clothes, are you ready for your day shift
This place will burn you up
Abel Tesfaye is a Canadian singer and record producer having an Ethiopian ancestry, he initially became popular after releasing his first album also called 'House of Balloons' free online as a 9 track mixtape in 2011.
The Weeknd has gained tremendous acclaim from popular MTV and Rolling Stone Magazine and is signed by an independent label called 'XO', you can obtain many of his songs on Soundcloud or free from his official website.
Another thing I like about Abel Tesfaye as a musical artist is the 'indie' style image which he uses to represent his album artwork and music videos, doesn't it remind you of era when music videos had some kind of storyline depicted in them? I say this because the majority of MTV videos these days simply have girls dancing in front of the camera.
Following the success of the first album, another 9 track album called 'Thursday' was released later the same year in August 2011. Production was accompanied on these albums by another producer called Doc McKinney and I particularly like the experimental sound which they created.
As with all good music it is innovative and does not follow the Status Quo, the sound includes a mixture of slow tempo beats, acoustic guitars, rock and hip hop.
A final album which was to complete what Weeknd is calling a trilogy of 2011 was released in December and called 'Echoes of Silence', following his song releases online you can see many of his videos on Youtube.
