Movies Ice Age - Ice Age 4

One of my recent enjoyments is to talk about upcoming movies and the gossip surrounding popular movie sequels etc, so far I have had a positive response regarding my hubs about The Chipmunks 3 and Twilight 5 but I can't wait to watch Ice Age 4!

Most people who are into their movies and who particularly love the 'family and educational' genre will have probably seen Ice Age 1 by now and what made it more appealing to me was that it is not an overly commercial Disney Pixar story line but taken from a little known independent story writer.

I think that IceAge is great for children to learn at an early age about animals that have become extinct and aside from The Mammoth 'Manfred' and Sabretooth Tiger 'Diego', we learn about smaller Paleolithic creatures such as the Megalonyx(Sloth) 'Sid' and the Sabre toothed squirrel 'Scrat'.

The brief outline of Ice Age 1 involves Manfred, Diego and Sid stumbling across a lost human baby that they vow to return to the tribe that they have seen moving fast just a short distance from them. The story was adapted to film by Carlos Saldanha and Chris Wedge and created by Blue Sky Studios but was originally written by Michael J. Wilson.

The characters have humorous and accurate personality traits based off their modern day animal relatives, today's Sloth creature we see as clumsy and Sid often annoys Diego with his dangerous endeavors. 'Manny' or Manfred(Prehistoric Elephant) has a dry sense of humor but often feels some emotion towards his companion Sid, while Diego being the fierce Tiger at times even vows to leave Sid behind!

This unusual mixture of personna's, along with the educational value and heart warming story is what makes the movie Ice Age so funny to watch!

I have seen all 3 of the Ice Age movies so far and Ice Age 2 was a great follow up movie with the subsiding of glaciers and melting ice caps, It continues to educate by this time covering the eventual extinction of the great Mammoth. However to avoid making the film upsetting we find that Manfred encounters a female called 'Ellie' and we are taken on an adventure where 'Ellie' recalls how she was separated from her herd and how the two Mammoths must stay together to 'save their species'.

I really think the directors of Ice Age picked a winning theme for their movies because in Ice Age 3 we are yet again taken to another period of history, the Jurassic Era or 'Dawn of the Dinosaurs' as the title is called. The sub stories of the film keep getting better and better because they follow the archeological evidence that Sabre Tooth Tigers lost their ability to hunt in warmer climates, however the main theme involves Manfred trying to protect Ellie and their unborn baby after Sid steals a T-Rex's unhatched eggs!

Without further a do I will share with you the news I have uncovered about the upcoming Ice Age 4 and also an Ice Age 4 trailer. I will begin by saying that the title of the movie is 'Continental Drift' which leaves everyone in anticipation of a 'ground breaking' plot in which our lovable characters find themselves 'shook' and 'moved' about the new changes in earth's environment.

I scraped about for any gossip regarding what happens to the gang but all I can report is that they are apparently supposed to get frozen in a dramatic change in climate following the end of the Ice Age and wake up in a modern day museum! There is always room for hilarious situations and new characters and I hope this article has got you as excited as I am!
