Why Website Traffic & Earnings are Low

I decided to write this hub because there has been a thread recently where numerous hubers have mentioned the January drop in Adsense earnings and websites traffic. Apparently this has to do with advertisers paying less for particular spots on our hubs and recovering from the Christmas promotion, also the public are spending less to tighten their belts after buying gifts.

My actually traffic and clicks have not been altered much but the Google earnings have been down, I have earned pretty much exactly £130 every month for the last 4-5 months but I am a little under half of that at midway through the month. Apparently this only lasts for January and things improve in February as advertisers begin to re-enter the market, for example; Valentines Day and Spring products will creep in.

All in All this is the impression I get from other senior hubers, I also heard one huber say that you should prepare yourself and since this is my first January since receiving high Adsense earnings I have put together a list of ideas to help boost my website traffic next year.

Obviously the first idea I thought of for increasing website traffic in January is to talk about the January sales, you probably wonder why I am giving away all my ideas but this is a broad topic area and you will probably have to chose your own niche anyway.

Top website traffic comes from the ability to offer people something unique as well as SEO and I knew that the Kindle was a popular Christmas gift for 2010 and that is why I wrote a hub about where to get secondhand Kindle 3 in the sales.

Website traffic may drop as well as earnings because its January, this might be because people are more interested in relaxing after the hype of December and would rather play games online or watch videos rather than search for solutions to problems or information on our hubs.

You might want to write about things that happen during the winter season that people need to stock up for, an example which I did particularly well with was 'Winter clothes'.

Another thing you could do to make website traffic increase during this time of the year is to talk about emergency equipment that people will need, for example, countries that don't usually experience harsh weather will be panicking to clear there roads and keep their cars running properly. You could include Amazon capsules to supplement your quarterly earnings and offer products such as anti-freeze, de-icer, windscreen covers, scrapers and shovels for driveways.

One of the golden rules to almost guaranteeing Google earnings and maintaining traffic any time of the year is to keep on writing! The more you write the more likely you will earn big, at least that is the advice and outlook I have adopted from other 'gurus' on here such as ThisisOli, RyanKett and IzzyM. I am constantly backlinking even if I cannot see an immediate result in Adsense earnings, this is because I use what has worked in the past and tough through the temporary low patches!

You could also expand your quarter earnings by advertising products which aid new years resolutions in your Amazon capsules, for example, nicotine gum, nicotine patches, nicotine inhalers, piggy banks for saving, dieting products and exercise equipment.

Don't forget to watch what other hubers are doing, I don't mean copy their content but how they are preparing and coping for certain times of year. One huber I know has been here 3 years and he intentionally worked like crazy right up until Christmas to produce an extra 50 Amazon product hubs and is probably laughing now he has extra cash to get through this dry period.
