Goggle

In this article I have decided to discuss another of my quirky subjects, as you may already have read recently I discussed the subject of people who mis-type the letters in the words Youtube. Well, I am back to deal with an even more common typing mistake and that is with the address of the most famous search engine on the Internet - Google!

I have searched across Hubpages and notice there are one or two other hubs which talk about this error in spelling but out of these one or two I thought I could expand on what they had said. Obviously as the title of my hub points out, many people type the address www.goggle.com and I will give brief review of this site further down the page, other common typos include gogle, googel and even gooogle.

Many people will try to exploit these inescapable flaws of human nature to rush when searching for something they desire online, you could try and create a page for almost a dozen other keywords such as geogle, googlr, ggogle or googlw and try to benefit from google advertising on those pages but people will only leave the page unless you try to make it entertaining. I have included images which I think make this page humorous and which illustrate the topic at hand and I believe my overall writing skills are creative.

Gogle.com

Google noticed people who tried to benefit from owning domains close to the original spelling of their site, bought them and now many of these such as Gogle, Googl and Googel will just redirect you to the Google homepage.

www.giggle.com is a genuine website, in fact, giggle is no laughing matter(pun intended) because they are a reputable childrens toy selling internet business and not a spam site!

www.googele.com actually redirects to another search engine called Digsearch, although I don't know how people manage to type googele, maybe its how posh people pronounce 'Goo-g-l-e'!

www.goole.com is another respectable webpage which offers information on a town situated in the North East of England called Goole.

www.googels.com is in fact an authentic Goggle website! if you are into scuba diving, swimming or need them for work, you will find all varieties here!

goggle.com

Now to the reason for all of the oh-so-funny goggle photos on my page, www.goggle.com is something to beware of according to my AVG antivirus anyway.

You really need your glasses(not goggles) on to make sure you don't accidently arrive here folks, this is exactly what AVG told me about them:

'The page you are trying to access has been identified as a known exploit, phishing, or social engineering web site and therefore has been blocked for your safety. Without protection such as that in AVG Security Toolbar, your computer is at risk of being comprimised, corrupted or having your identity stolen.'

Goggle Maps

You really do need to use your glasses typing other google related product names into a search engine because you will retrieve other spam sites when searching for the likes of goggle maps, gogle maps, googel maps or googlr maps. Actually I wouldn't say there was that much 'spam' for these keyword's because when I searched for them I found that www.goggle-maps.net was a resource for using google maps to improve your seo based on location of clients.

All I would say is that entering Goggle Earth, Gogle Earth, Goggle Adsense or Gogle Adsense into a search engine may leave you wishing you had a pair of goggles to protect your eyes from pop-ups springing towards you!

Gopgle.com

Lastly I have included an image of what is called a pair of 'Splinter Goggles' which were designed for protecting a worker's eyes manufacturing bullet shells during WW2.

You may be wondering what this has to do with Google, well, if you end up visiting Gopgles.com, you will appear to have found a search engine but when you look behind the 'mask' you have infact fallen into another marketing strategy which benefits this time from Google ads itself.  It is a well designed search program which the designer has organised to display adverts which he/she will generate revenue on when you click them.
